Back on August 5th, I joined engineers, product teams, and ecosystem partners at Microchip MASTER 2025 in Scottsdale, AZ. During the event, I had deep conversations with Matt Bromley (VP, Siemens EDA) and Rodger Richey (VP, Microchip Technology) about their new collaboration and how it’s transforming the engineering workflow. I've been thinking about it ever since, as I've continued to work with and communicate with the Siemens team. This week, I will be sharing what I've learned and passing along a few short videos we made together.

The core focus: PartsQuest Design Enablement, and how it ties into Siemens' newly configured EDA tool tiers — PADS Pro Essentials, Xpedition Standard, and Xpedition Enterprise. What I discovered is this: the partnership between Microchip and Siemens isn’t just about integrating parts into a design; it’s about making your tools work the way you work as a design engineer. It leverages AI to create a seamless workflow that spans from component discovery to simulation, to schematic capture that imports directly into your EDA tool, with the ability to expand all the way through to production with complete data continuity. No clunky file conversions and endless imports and exports between tools. Many companies are working to create the same digital workflow, but this is the first time I've personally seen AI leveraged in the right places which made it stand out to me.
I worked with the Siemens team to help create a series of short videos from my interviews at Masters, which I hope you'll enjoy this week. It will give you a sneak peek behind the scenes to learn about the Siemens vision and what they're building for engineers like you! We will share each of the three short videos this week that explore different parts of that journey. They will be released through The EEcosystem LinkedIn Page in the following order:
🎥 Wednesday: Enabling Users to Design Faster with a Digital Design Workflow
🎥 Thursday: End-to-End Data Continuity — From Discovery to Production
🎥 Friday: Making Informed Design Decisions that Drive Business Outcomes
Each video features snippets of my conversations with Siemens and Microchip leadership, plus insights from Siemens representatives explaining how Parts Quest Design Enablement integrates directly into PADS Pro, Xpedition Standard, leveraging the power of SupplyFrame and Microchip. The result? A truly connected, end-to-end design ecosystem.

If you're an engineer, design lead, or product manager curious about where AI + EDA + data workflows are heading next, you’ll want to follow this series.
