Antenna Made by Crossing a Gap

Hi everyone, I have a question. When a trace crosses a gap, it could create EMI problem, as well as other signal integrity issues. One reason such an approach causes EMI is by creating an antenna. Does anyone know the name of this type of antenna?

Thanks Robert for your very detailed answer. I learned a lot from your response. As far as I know when a high-speed trace crosses over a trace, we encounter 3 major issues:

  1. Reflection (because of impedance mismatch)

  2. Crosstalk (because of sharing the return path with other signals)

3. EMI (due to radiation) It is really important to understand the root cause of the problem as you mentioned to understand how to address the issue.

By the way, I think the name of the antenna I mentioned in my question is "Notch Antenna". Can anyone verify it?
